Varicose veins before & after

It often surprises people how varicose veins may be removed through tiny incisions. Removing them in this way is called phlebectomy or “avulsions”. This lady had the main feeding vein disconnected under local anaesthetic and these large varicose veins removed at the same time. The second picture is Day 10 post-op. Some slight bruising is still fading and the tiny incision marks are just visible – they will soon fade.

My varicose vein clinic is easily accessible from Whiteley, Southampton, Portsmouth and London.
