What is Eyebrow Cyst Removal?

Sebaceous cysts of the skin can occur in or near the eyebrow, where they can be particularly noticeable. They rarely become infected, but if they do, it is important to obtain antibiotic treatment soon since the infection could spread around the eye and cause more serious problems.

A cyst near the eyebrow needs careful removal under magnification to ensure that the wound and, therefore, the scar is as small as possible. Consideration will be given to the natural orientation of the skin in the area and balanced against the contour of the eyebrow.

What does the treatment for Eyebrow Cyst Removal involve?

Local anaesthetic is given to numb the area, and the cyst is removed. The wound will be closed with fine (hair’s breadth) dissolving stitches. The wound will then often be covered with antibiotic cream.

Recovery from Eyebrow Cyst Removal

Post operatively, recovery is rapid. Most patients would drive themselves home. The wound may be showered and dabbed dry. Petroleum gel or similar (Savlon dual healing gel is suitable) should be applied regularly for the first week or two after surgery. The stitches normally take a couple of weeks to dissolve.

What you can expect from Eyebrow Cyst Removal

Although complications can occur (such as infection), they are uncommon, and patients usually recover quickly and are pleased that they had their cyst removed.

Excellent care from start to finish

August 10, 2026

I recently had some veins treated in my Leg and, and as I was quite nervous, I really appreciated how lovely and reassuring everyone was.

The surgeon Simon was friendly, professional and put me completely at ease, and the nurse Becky was absolutely lovely and caring. They both made the whole experience much easier than I expected.

I’m very grateful for their care and would definitely recommend them.

Lipoma removal

June 3, 2026

Found Simon to be very professional and diligent within his work, the whole process took no more than an hour, I was made to feel at ease, comfortable and confident in Simon’s abilities. The cut was bigger & deeper than I expected, but that is more due to my own preconceived conceptions, Simon explained the whole process very well and detailed everything clearly before the operation went ahead, my head is healing up nicely.

Recent Cyst Removal

May 18, 2026

Absolutely would thoroughly recommend using Simon as recently had a cyst removed in a particular sensitive area. Felt at ease from the initial consultation through to the operation and final follow up. Special mention to his staff who had to put up with my ramblings during the op!!
