Whenever creating a surgical wound I always consider the natural relaxation lines. This “going with the grain” creates optimum healing with minimal scar formation. It also creates an amusing moment as I ask my patient to make faces so that I can see how their face moves naturally.

Xanthelasma are harmless benign fatty lumps in the skin of the eyelid.
I usually close tiny wounds from mole or cyst removal with extremely fine absorbable stitches (which avoids the need for a suture removal visit).
